Bonjour! My name is Irene and I am originally from Bordeaux, France. I speak French as my mother tongue at native speaker level. I also speak English fluently as I undertook my secondary and university studies in South Africa. I graduated with a first class BA Honours degree in French from Wits University. I also took up Italian, Spanish and German. I speak Spanish and German at an upper intermediate level. I tutor French and Spanish privately to pre-schoolers, primary school children, secondary school students and adults using interactive songs, games, role plays, PowerPoints in functional everyday contexts! I also teach business French. I get to know all my students using communicative activitues and make an individual learning development plan with them in order to best suit their needs. I choose engaging, relevant, and functional activities in real-world contexts taking into account each student's age, learning preferences, learning style, and learning goals. I offer a free lesson to start with, to establish the student's current language level and their learning goals. I teach according to the Schemes of Work and will collaborate with Modern Foreign Language school teachers and parents as well to draw up a tailored learning plan in partnership with my students. I tailor French lessons to every student's needs using their hobbies and interests. I like to put the student's needs first and help every student succeed!
