Hi everyone, my name is Ioanna. I've been tutoring for almost a year now and I have noticed how different the study plans can be depending on the needs of each student. As I'm a student myself, I can understand the struggles faced by others when it comes to learning a difficult subject or a new language. Hence, I would like to help out as much as I can.
For biology lessons:
- Each lesson will be different, depending on the topic. I tend to include graphs, tables, notes, and questions in order to help the students understand the content better.
- I also encourage students to have a quick active recall session in the first few 5-10 minutes of each lesson.
- I regularly take notes on each student's development so I can track their progress and see which topics they need more help with.
For language lessons:
- Again, each lesson is different.
- Depending on what the student is struggling with, I focus more on helping them improve. For example, if the student has trouble speaking but knows the vocabulary, I encourage them to have a short conversation each lesson so they can practice their conversational skills and build more confidence.
- I use certain textbooks as references. Books can be expensive so I am continuously trying to find cheap versions or free PDF versions of different books and workbooks that Ii can share with the student. I mostly use textbooks as references as to what the order is when learning the language.
