I have lots of experience working with children such as in summer camps, sports training and mentoring. I have helped younger children with reading, times tables and alphabet but consistently tutored and helped my brother through his GCSEs. I am very versatile with my teaching approach- i can make lessons highly structured or more question based but i am always willing to be flexible to work on what the student needs the most. My lessons are mainly interactive and focus upon visual queues, diagrams, pictures etc to improve memory. I use multiple memory techniques such as blurting which are especially useful for revision but can also tailor to auditory or physical learning if required. Content of lessons is dependent upon the level being taught and specific requirements but we will usually start with an overview and select target areas to work on. Practice questions tests and quizzes can then be introduced to create a more realistic approach to exams. Overall, I like to get to know the individual and be open so that I can try to get the best possible work out of them. By communicating well we will see better improvement and individuals are more likely to enjoy their learning experience!
