I am passionate about making stem subjects more accessible especially to those that aren't normally encouraged to go into this area. I believe anyone can learn given the right resources, and time. I aim to make learning hard things a pleasant experience, and reduce frustration. I am patient and good at explaining concepts in a easy to understand way. I like to link creativity to subjects usually considered not creative as I find that a much more interesting and engaging way to learn.
Although my career is Engineering, in my free time I do arts and crafts, as well as play the piano and flute, and I find this beneficial for mental health as well as developing the skills needed to learn other subjects like maths.
I have lived experience being neurodivergent at school (and now!) and can understand the frustrations that come with that as often a school setting is not the best environment to learn. I hope to reduce those frustrations by providing a calm space to work through problems.
I can cover any primary subject, including a general homework help service which will mean helping with any homework set that week. I also cover any STEM subject or English (lang/lit) at a secondary level (GCSE or A-Level). I am available on a regular basis or for one off/shorter periods, e.g. for exam prep.
I am usually available weekend mornings, but have some time in the evenings - please ask if you have a specific time in mind. I am Queer and LGBT+ accepting (my pronouns are she/they).
