I strive to enable students to succeed in and beyond the classroom, provide an authentic experience to students, ensure collaboration and inclusiveness and enable them to get the intuition of concepts. The key teaching approach I employ are: (i) I focus on the fundamentals of the subject; (ii) I ensure that students understand the context of what is being taught; (iii) I ensure the course must enable students to independently learn; (iv) I mentor and provide pastoral support to students; (v) I keep students motivated by making classes and tasks more entertaining, thought-provoking, collaborative and interactive. To enable students to get more confidence in their approach and solutions, I ensure example questions are solved interactively in class. I evaluate students’ assessments and feedback. Through mentorship and pastoral support, students can do independent and original work and break societal and class barriers.
I started my teaching career in 2012 at Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Nasarawa State, Nigeria, as a National Youth service scheme teaching assistant. After gaining years of teaching experience, I got a Lecturing Job as Lecturer III at the Federal College of Education Technical, FCE(T), Anambra, Nigeria, in 2019 and subsequently got promoted to Lecturer II in 2022. I have worked as a teacher, laboratory demonstrator and tutor, served in the capacity of exam invigilator, student research project supervisor, taken students on excursions with over eight (8) years experience of teaching and research experience in Physics at the secondary and College level, I am skilled in developing and implementing effective teaching, learning and assessment methods with an aptitude for making complex and difficult concepts easily understandable to students.
