I use formulas that are easy to remember to enable my students learn and understand how maths works. I also teach tips and tricks that help my students keep what they’ve learnt fresh in their memory. I create a positive atmosphere for my students which I believe is very important, regarding the negative beliefs students always have when it comes to maths and passing it in school. I use tools like kahoot and other games/quizzes to frequently to enable my students practice quick mental maths. In my experience I’ve learnt that piling on homework and expecting students to understand it with no help does more harm than, good my approach is much less difficult and erases the stigma about maths being so difficult and a burden, as I encourage optimism and confidence in my students
