I sat my GCSE exams in 2021 and finished my A levels earlier this year. I’m very aware of the standards required in terms of preparation. I also appreciate this is hard to grasp in year 10 and 11 but the skills I can pass on should be transferable across a range of subjects.
After studying A-level and achieving AABB I have had to develop and try a variety of revision tools and ways to learn vast amount of content efficiently.
I’ve got experience in teaching younger children how to read, as well as walking peers through problems step by step in a way which pushes them to solve them all by themselves.
I believe everyone is capable of working at the level they want to, provided I can fill in the gaps in their basic understanding first.
This is why I start by identifying gaps in knowledge, weaker areas and tackling them head on from the basics first right through to more difficult and unusual concepts - finally with exam technique to understand how to show the examiner your knowledge.
My lessons will very interactive with back and forth questions to ensure a student’s understanding verbally, with questions which will be written with and without assistance; combined with repetition in-between sessions by 1) creating simple revision tools for key term recall and 2) making use of homework provided by the school they attend, so they can actively see an improvement with current topics.
If you are willing to learn then I am willing to help you reach your academic goals and I look forward to meeting you.
