It is important to mention that Ibrahim tailors his lessons to the student as he finds that this is the best approach to teaching a new language. However, a generic lesson will take the following format:
1: Get to know the student. This is crucial as Ibrahim must build a rapport with his students to know how to teach them
2: Build a schedule that is appropriate for the student; it is important that students can commit to learning and so Ibrahim is flexible with his time in order to assure that all of his students gain the most knowledge possible from learning from him.
3: Depending on the level of the student, Ibrahim creates a lesson plan that he will teach according to the schedule decided upon. For example, if the learner is a beginner and can not read or write in English, Ibrahim will begin by teaching the alphabet and basic word blocks that the learner can advance upon. In contrast, if the student is more fluent in English but lacks understanding of grammar, Ibrahim will use extracts from books of his choosing that will help the learner to understand the construct of a sentence. At all times, Ibrahim remains patient and will not stop teaching until the lesson has been absorbed.
4. Re-evaluate and create new lesson plans. Once the student has overcome their language problems, Ibrahim will build a new lesson plan tailored to his students to advance their learning.
