I am a highly motivated and experienced musician, accustomed to composing, teaching, accompanying and performing on piano and trombone. I am a prolific and enthusiastic composer with a substantial portfolio of compositions for varied ensembles and purposes. My compositional interests: tonal/modal/atonal harmony, counterpoint in relation to rhythm, serialism, developing symphonic techniques, extended harmony, and counterpoint in the context of military march composition, to try to advance the genre. Consistently structured teaching in military and civilian environments has resulted in a proven track record of high quality musicians, and qualified Military Bandmasters currently serving in Bands of the British Army and Royal Oman Police (ROP).
