I plan on going through concepts and gauging how well students understand them alongside an overview of the topics the concepts appear in. I plan on going through concepts and gauging how well students understand them alongside an overview of the topics the concepts appear in. The order planned in terms of lessons can either be in chronological order of the topics or it can be in order of the topics the student struggles with the most. When I believe the student has grasped the content covered to a suitable degree I will then test them using flash cards and open ended questions to see how much of it they recall and understand. Following on from this I will give them past paper questions relating to the topic and seeing how they manage. I will give links to useful resources and provide detailed information from exam boards in regards to approaching exam questions and what techniques are the most useful to gain high marks in each question. I will incorporate the theme of active recall across sessions to make sure that not only is the student reviewing the information and content previously covered but that the student can competently and correctly explain the concepts previously covered. Depending on the situation the student may be able to show their in class assessments to see where they went wrong and what they did well and what they could change going forward to get better results. This would also aid significantly in keeping track of their progress and to see if my approach to learning is benefitting them or if I need to change my approach to get the most out of our time and provide the best service I can.
