I have a Masters degree in Electronic Engineering (2:1 honours) from the University of Wales Bangor. I also have around 18 years of industrial experience as a Research and Development Engineer in the field of environmental monitoring.
We can meet in person if you desire (depending on your location). I can also provide online lessons via platforms such as skype or teams. If you are struggling with a particular subject area or subject areas and would like to receive further instruction, then it might be prudent to give advanced notice of such topics. This is so that the lessons may be better geared towards the effective explanation and possible application of these specific areas of interest.
I can give lessons according to your needs at: a GCSE level, an A level, or depending on the subject or topic also at an undergraduate level of understanding.
My areas of expertise include environmental sensing, schematic capture, pcb layout and embedded firmware programming (mainly 8-bit PIC microcontroller in C using MPLAB X). I also have a keen interest in the nature of control systems such as PID systems.
With regard to environmental sensing I have experience with the concepts and techniques of: various types of sensor measurement technology, sensor calibration techniques, and sensor output adjustment.
I have experience using (amongst others) the following communication methods and protocols: 0-5V DAC output signals, 4-20mA current loops, Single Wire Interface, I2C, SPI, (Universal Serial Synchronous/Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) R/S-232, USB, CAN, Ethernet (TCP/IP and UDP), GPS, Wi-Fi and ZigBee.
