My career in teaching first began in an Arabic school where I taught pre-GCSE level Arabic. In this role I prepared the scheme of work, planned each lesson in aims to develop the student’s Arabic reading and writing while teaching them the principles of Arabic grammar. I would monitor each student’s progress through regular assessments based on their spoken and written responses, adjusting my style of teaching accordingly and providing extra learning resources if necessary. This was accompanied by regular meetings with parents where I would discuss the progress and specific needs of each child with their guardian so they can be guided both in the classroom and at home to achieve the best possible GCSE grade.
