Hi! I'm Hoyeon. I am a professional tutor currently pursuing an honours degree at the University of Sydney. I'm a great speaker, funny, in tune with current events and love to yap!

I bring a robust foundation to effectively guide students through complex political concepts through my background in International Relations and Socio-Legal Studies, and diverse experience in geopolitical analysis, interpretation, and policy writing from an Australian context.

During my tenure as an Open-Source Intelligence Analyst and Korean-English Interpreter at the Korea Defense Intelligence Agency, I developed exceptional skills in political analysis, research, and communication. As squad leader of an 8-person intelligence task force, I contributed to policy recommendations and official reports, refining my ability to simplify intricate topics—a skill invaluable in tutoring roles. Additionally, my experience as a columnist for Hanho Times sharpened my written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in translating political commentary for diverse audiences.

Beyond professional experience, I am passionate about education and fostering critical thinking. As Founder and President of the Sydney University Gastrodiplomacy Society, I collaborated with academics and diplomats to explore the intersections of food and foreign policy, demonstrating initiative, leadership, and a commitment to democratising the study of Politics and International Relations.
