Despite being taught in the British curriculum, I have been tutoring students studying IB and the Australian curriculum for the past year. My teaching style relies heavily on the students being proactive and taking the initiative to critically evaluate the information I provide them. Rather than “teach” them the knowledge, I prefer to guide them to answering their own questions through asking them supplementary questions that lead them to where they need to be. According to research, this type of active learning is the most effective strategy, and will be the main method of my teaching.
