I believe that allowing students to learn by doing is a strong way to learn and retain information. I will ask how each student learns best, and cater towards their learning methods. I like to use lots of visual and real world examples to best connect math to applied circumstances. I will often explain the concept then show an example or two. Then, I allow the student to try an example with my assistance if needed. From there, I allow students to practices the mathematical principle without my help, and we review them afterwards.
I have experience tutoring before, and always stayed engaged and kept my students accountable for their academic goals. This helped my students improve their grades by keeping their goals in mind and keeping them accountable. I studied Biomedical-Mechanical engineering, and have experience as a mechanical engineer, so I can confidently say that I have encountered times in the real world when I needed to apply mathematics. I additionally have worked with a wide age range of students, ranging from elementary to high school.
I like to utilize online resources to make our tutoring sessions as engaging as possible. Screen and video sharing are very helpful in these sessions and can bring the classroom right to your computer! I am very flexible in learning new programs that accommodate each student's needs
I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your mathematics goals! Please reach out with any additional questions about me or my tutoring methods and experience, or for any further communication!
