I like to focus on the interests of a child, children will likely be a lot more motivated if they are learning something that peaks their interest. I spend time getting to know the child, their interests in and out of music, and some of their favourite artists so we can find some songs to learn together. From there, I focus on what the child and parent wish to get out of their lessons, what their goals are and how they want to achieve them. My lessons are easy going and are child led. I have found from previous experience teaching young children how to play guitar that there are many ways to do so, whether that is focusing on chords or on tabs. I always have the child's best interests at heart and I am committed to pushing them to their fullest potential. I take into account the mood of the child on the individual lessons and decide with them what the best way forward is for that lesson. To me, it does not matter the time it takes for a child to achieve, what matters is that they are happy and content with themselves and from that understanding, they can achieve much more.
