My sessions will be student led. I will aim to begin sessions at a basic level and as students get more confident in their psychological knowledge I will bring in more complex language and theory. However, I want to make sure I focus on areas of difficulty for the student so there is not a robust plan in place that each student will go through. I will research the exam board past papers that the student will be completing and use these to guide my study sessions. If work needs additional sessions I am also happy to adjust.
My preferred teaching will be online during the evenings and on the weekend. I am open to face-to-face teaching or changing my hours if I can accommodate. I also want to make sure I am meeting the student's learning needs and if additional support is necessary I will try my best to accommodate to this as well.
Each session I would begin with a check in and end with a check out- this provides students with a few minutes to reflect on the sessions and how they are feeling. I want to make sure I also acknowledge their wellbeing and do not overload them with information during an already stress inducing period. I will also be flexible and if a pre-planned session no longer suits the students needs I will adjust to what is considered higher priority.
Overall, I want to provide students with a space to not just develop their psychological knowledge, but to also enjoy what they are learning.
