I am a Law student interested in helping others excel as I believe smaller groups and 1 to 1 sessions work better, especially for those students who find being in public places or classrooms gives them anxiety and prevents them from asking questions, sometimes a friendly face helps you memorise what was said or shown in the lessons, it also provides a comfortable setting for you to openly ask questions about what you struggle with.
In regards to what the lessons are like, I tend to use flashcards, and mainly verbal conversation, whilst I may require students to write notes to assist them, it is not mandatory but necessary for exceeding in their journey. Picture examples are also used on shared screen in order to help with memory tactics if the student needs this tutoring for an exam or CV etc.
There is no pressure in my sessions, just motivation and perseverance. I am patient and willing to help at any moment and refuse for a student to feel left behind with the pace of the session. The student can have as many sessions as they would like on one subject or multiple, it can be set at their pace and will always be tailored to their needs. Some sessions can be more relaxed than others if the student feels overwhelmed at any point and breaks with a friendly chat are more than welcome too.
You have so much potential, you just need a push to find it! Good Luck.
