Hoey Lui

Hello! I am Hoey, currently in year 12, studying A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Psychology. I might be only 1 year older than my students, and I often tutor some of my friends who are also currently working on GCSE preparations, so I am sure I can get along with students in year 9 to year 11 easily, and provide support for them and for their exams.
I got all 9s in GCSE maths and triple sciences, and I am very familiar with past paper mark schemes, which is very important for students to not waste time on writing irrelevant points. My lessons will have less content reviewing and more focused on exam strategies. I would be going through past paper questions (PPQs) and mark schemes more than revision on content, as this is the part where most students would miss in their revision, according to my observations. I have seen a lot of cases where students put correct knowledge in the answer but not getting any credits for it. This is because what they have put is not on the mark scheme, although they aren’t wrong. This also means that they have gone through enough content, but they haven’t done enough PPQs and check, so they don’t know what exactly the examiners are looking for. Therefore, I would really like to help year 9 to year 11 students to achieve their full potential through GCSEs and getting top grades.
