I come from an engineering background, in engineering we learn to design and build using all the laws and concepts of science. I believe to teach a good teacher should not only understand their subjects and students but also understand the practical applications of the concepts which can be related to day-to-day life. That helps students link to the concepts and understand them much better.
In my experience, I have taught students of high schools, as well as engineering students, and my methods of teaching, have helped them understand and implement their learnings.
