Herman Med Cerisha (Piano)
18-year-old Herman Med Cerisha was born in Putignano (Bari), Italy and has been studying piano since the age of 6. In 2020 he won a scholarship to study at The Purcell School. In 2021, he was named the Bechstein scholar student of the year.
As an 8 year old, he took the entrance exams at the National College of Music George Enescu in Bucharest, Romania, where he obtained full marks and was admitted to the top piano class to study with Elisa Barzescu.
Herman has won over 50 international competitions over the years, including the “Chopin” competition junior 2015, Poland; “Piano talents” competition 2018, Italy; “Berman” competition, Italy 2016; “Dinu Lipatti” competition in Italy 2019 and 2022; Orbetello competition in Italy 2023. Following his win in the “Pianisti i Ri” competition in Kosovo in 2019, he was featured as a guest soloist in a performance with the Philarmonic of Pristina, Kosovo performing Grieg - piano concerto in A minor op. 16.
In addition to this, Herman has been invited to perform in many prestigious venues such as: recital at Villa Torlonia in Rome, Italy 2016; concert at Svetlanov concert hall, Russia 2017; concert at the Pristina Philharmonic, Kosovo 2022. He has regularly collaborated with the orchestra at the Arad philharmonic, Romania from playing concertos such as Grieg, Piano concerto in A minor, op. 16 and Saint-Saens, Piano concerto in G minor op. 22, no. 2.
Herman has had numerous masterclasses with pianists from all over the world such as: Boris Petrushansky in 2023; Noriko Ogawa in 2022; Barbara Szczepanska in 2022; Cristina Marton-Algerich in 2018; Daniel Goiti in 2018; Gabriel Teclu in 2017; Constantin Sandu in 2015; Leonid Margarius, Franco Scala and Jin Ju in 2016 at the Imola Piano Academy.
