I have been teaching for the past 20 years, in the fields of Core Mathematics, Core English, Integrated Science, Chemistry and once in a while Physics.

I generally use simple tenses for them to understand the topics I teach, mainly when the topic is a bit confusing. Language is a major tool of significance when it comes to teaching and learning. So, I study and pay much attention to my students, and have the ability to detect if anyone does not understand me at a point or not, because the main goal is to have almost all of them understanding the concept of the topic.
I generally prefer diagrammatic approach whilst teaching. Teaching with valid diagrams and illustrations where applicable help students to understand the concept far better than always describing with mere words. It helps them again to visualize quick.
