Setting up on advanced optical vacuum systems (Leybold), for the production of bandpass filters etc. Various clean room laboratory work. Maintenance of the vacuum facility. Particle counting (measurement) of clean room according to ISO norm.

Hands on experience with Holographic laser setup, phase mask production. Hands on experience with optical diffraction gratings, for fiber bragg gratings (FBG) and near field holographic phase masks (NFH) for micro chip production. Spectra Physics UV laser, Newport power meter, Ocean detector (diffraction efficiency), Lab-view, grating period measurement, RIE etching, tolerances within 0.01 nm. We actually held the world record of the smallest grating period at the time of 200 nm.

Education

University of Oxford
Graduate student - Nanotechnology / Nanomedicine
Oxford, distance learning / online - Department of Continuing Education
(Module 2 of MSc in Nanomedicine is completed and passed)

The Open University
Bachelor degree completed - Physics
Milton Keynes

I have trained Lab staff on the leading laboratories in Denmark. I have taken my degree and PG studies with Oxford as Distance learning and online. So, it would make me a kind of specialist in this respect. I believe I teach GCSE level and bridging level towards A-level, by a thorough online power-point presentation, to both young students as well as adults. The combination of power-point Tutorials and the use of excellent textbooks combined with the use of a graphing calculator, (practice by numerical methods) will make you progress much faster than with more traditional methods.
