I am an Afrikaans teacher at a specialist school, dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment. Passionate about inclusive education, I leverage my compassion and creativity to engage students of all abilities. With a Bachelor's degree in Education and currently pursuing an honours degree in Psychology with a focus on counselling. I integrate my insights and experience from being a teacher's assistant in grade R-4 and my experience as a teacher in grade 4-IGCSE and AS-level to tailor my teaching strategies, ensuring every student feels valued and empowered to succeed. I believe that when a student feels supported and listened to, they are more likely to engage with the subject content, this has proven to be successful, especially in an inclusive special education environment. I also believe that fostering a caring, yet cordial relationship with my students can greatly improve both their experience as well as my experience in lessons. I will often adapt my teaching style toward the student's needs to ensure that they receive the best possible learning experience. Lessons should be informative, how ever they should also be enjoyable, this is why I employ a variety of different activities during revision lessons such as: immersive reading, games, quizzes and puzzles. During my time teaching an IGCSE language class, we developed a Dungeons and Dragons campaign to help us engage with creative writing lessons more effectively. I am currently based in South Africa and therefore I only teach online. I do hope that you would consider me as a future tutor.
