My biology teaching goes with definition of terms, the use of symbols/pictures for better understanding, deep explanation is given, section for questions and answers is available as well, Home work is very important to be sure my students are following up. Content for a elementary biology includes; knowing the difference between living and nonliving things, being able to identify them, knowing your gender as a child, being able to identify some basic parts of the body like eyes, nose, and ears with their functions etc. I understand that some children cannot tell if he/she is a boy or a girl. So as a biology teacher i need to let the know the difference using simpler and easy terms with this kids. Some children are not familiar with the surroundings hence doesn't know the right word to use for a particular object, they all need to learn these things. For instance, child could take a rose flower for a weed because he or she doesn't know the difference. He/she could take daddy for a woman because the child doesn't understand gender differences. And so on. Elementary biology is very important in the life of every child, knowing themselves as humans and not animals, getting to know where they are (environment) and how to relate with it. It's not quite easy but with a teacher like me, I make everything soft and easy for this young ones because I understand how they feel,see and and read meanings to things.
