Helen Parsons

I have a BA in Drama and English Literature and have been tutoring EAL online and teaching EAL in secondary schools for nearly three years. I have spent the past year ensuring that students from Afghanistan can be integrated into mainstream lessons in a school in London, which I have loved, and their improvement has been dramatic. I am about to start a Masters degree in Speech and Language Therapy so I am very interested in the development of the English Language, whether that is from a beginner, or someone who has been learning English for years.

I am patient, kind and enthusiastic. Our first lesson will be to find out more about you and your needs, before creating a curriculum to help you reach your best potential. We will probably do a mix of conversation, formal speaking, writing and listening. However, I know that every learner is different. I will listen to you as an individual, and will cater our lessons to fit your specific needs. I can help you with school work, GCSE or A Level preparation, university work, interview preparation or anything else you can think of!

I know that learning English as an additional language is not easy, and with my depth of teaching experience I will reduce any fears you have of the language and you will become more confident. I love meeting new and interesting people, so whatever your background or your level of English, I welcome all students.
