What are my lessons like? They are built around you!

Lessons will be based on the preferred learning style of the learner and tailored to their particular language learning goals. Both learning style and learning goal will be identified as an initial step.

Lessons will take place over Zoom. Besides working one-to-one with individuals, I am open to working with small groups as long as groups are composed of learners of similar language ability.

No special software or equipment will be necessary, but lessons will be made engaging through activity-based tasks that will involve screen-sharing, interactive white-boards, and other exciting formats tailored to the learner(s).

Tasks will build confidence across reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, and will introduce learners to different language uses across English: expressing wishes for the future; making recommendations to others; describing favourite films; singing along to songs; explaining how to cook your favourite meal; engaging in a lively debate; summarising a news story... the possibilities are endless.

Learner progress will be monitored so that we don't miss opportunities to revise and go deeper on challenging areas, as well as areas of interest. We will check-in on how we are progressing towards your language learning goals, and if those goals are evolving or the time-frames are changing.

I provide pdf print-outs of all lessons, and include links to further exercises for learners who want to explore a subject independently between online classes.

I aim to provide a supportive, flexible and fun language learning experience. The learner is always number one in this journey. This won't be like school, sat passively in a classroom listening to a teacher. My mission is to make English come alive for you in ways that are self-activated and build your confidence and love of English.
