Experiential drama-led sessions that bring theories to life by giving opportunities to practice new behaviours and communication skills. Useful for anyone experiencing lack of confidence/low self-esteem, social or general anxiety.

The aim of these sessions is to practice an 'outside in' approach to gaining confidence, achieving better communication and having more influence.

1) Selecting more assertive body language, facial expressions, vocal tone and language selection makes us LOOK more confident
2) When we look and sound confident, others treat us differently
3) When others treat us differently, we start to think differently about ourselves.
4) More positive thoughts about ourselves make us FEEL more confident.

In other words, if we can practice LOOKING confident - even when we don't feel it - it could help us to genuinely FEEL more confident!

Whilst the sessions will include discussion about about theories and useful behavioural models, the primary emphasis is on seeing behaviours in action and experiencing the emotional impact of interacting with those.

It's my job as a drama-led trainer and roleplayer, to demonstrate how different communication styles look and sound and then create an opportunity for you to interact with different 'people' (roleplayed by me) and then learn how to make that communication more effective. Don't worry, you don't need to act as you'll be re-acting!

The goal is to learn more about your own communication style. understand why you do what you do and also gain a greater understanding and recognition of the communication styles of others.
Once you can do that, you can learn how to adapt your approach in order to have more influence.

For example, if there's someone you know who is teasing, excluding or bullying you, we can re-create that interaction and practice strategies that could empower you.

These sessions are fun, engaging and conducted in an safe, no-consequences setting where you can practice new behaviours and see the impact. The sessions can also be intense and emotional, and that's all positive too. This is your chance to try some new conversational strategies that might change your experience at school, college or workplace.
