Heinrich in a nutshell
I have 30 years+ experience in lecturing students of all walks of life. I have lectured in many fields like Physics (Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Optics) and Computer Science (C++ programming, Matlab, MS Office), but Applied Mathematics (the practical one) will always be my passion. I have worked on projects about the population dynamics of sea turtles to pattern formation in nature.

My lectures are pitched at the individual level. My aim is to lecture/tutor in such a way that the student will understand the processes involved doing mathematics and irradicate "parrot-learning" of mathematical concepts.

A lecture will always start with previous knowledge as a base line. Then proposing a question or problem statement. A lively discussion of problem statement with all possible solutions entertained. The discussion is channeled to a mathematical concept that will assist us in solving the problem. A complete mathematical description of the mathematical concept then follows with examples. Possible shortcomings are discussed and illustrated with further examples.

Concept and examples are graphically displayed for better understanding.

Students are given additional problems to do in class such that any misconceptions are immediately addressed. Students will present and explain to the rest of class their solution. Fellow students are allowed to ask question or make suggestions. Students are given more problems to do on their own which is then discussed at the next meeting. Using packages like Excel, Geogebra, Matlab and Phyton are essential to visualize mathematical concepts and students are encouraged to develop their skills in these software packages.
