I’ve previously taught and an alternative provision secondary school where I taught students ages 11-15. I have experience in teaching students who are unable to attend school, SEN students and students who are looking to adapt their knowledge prior to sitting gcse exams.
I also have experience teaching in a sixth form college where I taught students ages 16-21. I also tutored maths and English alongside this to students who were unable to sit their GCSEs or had previously failed them. I provide up to date knowledge, excellent teaching styles and great resources/PowerPoint led lessons to help students retain information.
I like to get to know my students first and find out how they best prefer to be taught as I feel every lesson should be catered to meeting the students needs.
I have good experience in ensuring all students work is marked, assessed and feedback is provided. Each lesson will be broken down in three stages.
The first stage is the starter/ we recap the previous lesson with Q&A, fun starter activities and a mix of resources provided to ensure students are retaining information.
The second stage is the bulk of the lesson where we continue learning from the previous lesson and ensure students are engaged throughout. A range of fun learning activites are included, a PowerPoint for students to take key notes from alongside assessment throughout to asses students learning.
The final stage is the end of the session, where I will do a test to make sure students have taken something from the lesson.
