Having lived in France for 13 years, I have excellent experience with the language, and I can also appreciate how difficult it can be to learn a foreign language, having gone through the French education system myself. This means I understand the difficulties students may have with getting to grips with a new language. This includes not only learning new vocabulary, and grammar but also developing the confidence to use it. Not only, have I experienced using French in a variety of situations, but I have also been teaching for eight years in language schools, as well as in mainstream schools.
I am a patient teacher, and all my lessons are tailored to your needs and learning style, whether that means you are learning French for purely personal reasons, to improve your job prospects, or to pass an exam. I also have experience teaching children, as well as adults so I can work with a wide variety of students. This means that my teaching style depends on who I am teaching, but generally, it is fun, and engaging, and I make sure to use a wide variety of authentic materials. This includes videos, music, and relevant written materials, as well as choosing interesting and engaging conversation topics. I believe that it is important for students to gain confidence through using the language, so there will be plenty of opportunities to use the language, as well as develop other valuable skills such as writing and listening.
I am also happy to help students who wish to pass their DELF exam or to give extra tutoring to students who are looking to take their GCSE French exam.
