Heather Johnston

I am currently completing the final year of my PhD in Astrophysics. I currently research giant planet formation around different kinds of stars so my expertise currently lies in the fields of planet formation, stellar evolution, and protoplanetary disk evolution. I have an MSci in Physics which provided me with a very broad background across physics as a whole, consisting of quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and condensed matter physics.

I have been tutoring/demonstrating at university level for the last 4 years. This has included large and small classes; assisting with laboratory experiments / writeups; marking coursework etc. I have completed 2 Foundations in Teaching courses through both the University of Dundee and the University of Dundee. I have also co-supervised 5 BSc honours project students all to a pass in the last 2 years.

My lessons will consist of addressing the fundamentals needed for the course, explaining any tricky concepts, and practice questions / examples.
