Heather Daley

I graduated with a degree in English Creative writing in 2009, and I received my CELTA in 2014. Currently, I am finishing my thesis for my master’s degree in English, Literature and Cultural Studies. I enjoyed working in the ESL and education industry for almost 7 years.

I am a flexible teacher that is happy to adapt to a variety of learning styles and preferences. As I have a wide range of experience, I am comfortable with shifting my tactics to suit individual needs. I provide detailed feedback, included pronunciation practice for sounds that are repeatedly mispronounced.

With my corporate students, I like to tailor lessons to their specific language learning goals to ensure that they enhance their skills at an optimal pace. I have worked with managers and executives at the Hyundai Kia Motors Headquarters in Seoul. During my time there, I was able to help students increase their company test results. I was able to help my corporate students become more confident speakers while teaching public speaking using the toastmaster's system.

I have worked with Kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students from Korea and China. For younger students, I focus on making language learning fun and stress-free to ensure that they stay motivated and that they are able to retain what they learn (stress reduces your ability to retain information). When teaching older students, I focus on engaging their interests, teaching test-taking skills, and developing writing skills to ensure that their admission essays are top-notch.

Furthermore, I have experience in the tech and travel sectors and I can use this experience to craft learning materials.
