I like my lessons to be fun, encouraging and friendly! My approach is to build on your child's current interests and motivators, to encourage them to find their own joy in learning. For example, if your child loves cars or vehicles then we could use this as part of our lessons, making cars drive to read and write words or solve mathematical problems. This helps the learning to 'stick', as the child can learn in a playful and explorative way. My preferred teaching methods are games and playful activities, as who doesn't like to learn whilst also having an enjoyable time?

I have extensive experience working with children, and have worked with the EYFS and Primary age range for over 20 years. My degree included study in the areas of child development and child psychology, which are also keen interests of mine. I have a lot of experience with children who have additional needs and SEND, and I have had vast additional training in the areas of child health and wellbeing, behaviour management, and PSHE (all of which I lead in my current teaching position).

I am able to work on specific areas of challenge for your child, or I can assess their current level of understanding in a particular area and plan my lessons accordingly. I am happy to teach a range of subjects using the EYFS and / or primary curriculum, or I can tailor learning to suit your specific goals.
