I have been a private tutor from the age of 13 until now. I have primarily taught children studying for the 11+ (grammar test in the UK) all the way up to GCSE students. I feel very confident to also provide A-Level support to those studying Politics and Philosophy specifically.
I am online based, and we will use the full duration efficiently to maximise the student's learning.
My lessons can be tailored according to the individual student's needs - whether that's helping with homework, preparing for exams, marking essays, or focusing on one subject/ topic to complete comprehension.
I like being organised and teaching intuitively, and providing students with the skills, the confidence and the space to flourish.
I am not interested in writing essays and doing the work for the student; I am here to provide support and mentorship during the allotted time together, and being completely present during that time.
As mentioned, in terms of materials and lessons plans, these can be tailored according to the student's needs and their own learning styles. In the past I have preferred going beyond the basics of note-taking and transcribing to more active study methods: practice questions, having the students present their understanding, etc.
I will create a google drive for the student - so they can access all the materials that we have collated together.
Most importantly, I really enjoy tutoring and it makes me happy when students ask me as many questions as they can - their understanding and development is what inspires me.
