I have more than 25 years of experience. I usually begin the lesson with recapitulation followed by an explanation of the topic with the help of PPT/video/Ck12/phet simulations etc. At the end of the lesson, there is always a short test through quizizz or oral discussion, or written test to check whether the student is able to grasp the content taught.
If the child could not understand any of the topics, it is repeated till it does not fit into the brain.

assessment is always part of teaching to fulfill the objective of teaching
