My teaching method involves first covering the chosen topic slowly in as much detail as possible to aid in the students understanding. This is followed by exam questions to practice applying their knowledge. Any gaps that show themselves we will reinforce to hopefully give the student a good overall grasp of the topic. In my experience learning to apply your knowledge in exam-style questions is one of the most important but overlooked skill you need to ace your tests so a good portion of our lessons will be about applying what we have learnt.
