2022 has welcomed the start of a full time tutoring venture for me. I believe that I have been able to take all that I have learnt in the classroom environment and streamline this for individual students and small groups of students through various tutoring platforms.
I have been able to focus wholly with more concentrated time and energy on individual students and thus been able to cater bespoke lessons according to a student’s varying needs and abilities. I have enjoyed having the liberty to take the time necessary to explore key scientific concepts with students and have also been able to develop my own teaching and learning practise on a deeper level through this new teaching chapter. One such example is imploring the use of practical experiments in unconventional ways that I would traditionally use in a classroom setting. This has often meant thinking of additional ways I can deliver such key information to students, sometimes with this being virtual experiments and other times using modelling virtually. I am thoroughly enjoying this new stage of teaching and welcome new students and clients with hopes to further develop my teaching practise.
