Here is an example of a layout I use for my lessons, I aim to follow this structure for all lessons but I will be flexible depending on your child’s strengths and weaknesses.

First 10 mins recap of homework set in the last lesson.
I would then spend the next 20 minutes explaining concepts and making them understand the topic and how to do the questions.
After this there would be 10 minutes of guided question answering where I would help them and guide them through questions.
Once they feel comfortable I would ask them to do questions independently and then we would mark them once they are completed.
After this I would set homework for them so they can gain a better understanding of the topics.

I believe this structure is very useful and very innovative as this was the structure I used to revise for my GCSE’s which shows it is proven to get good results. For online sessions I will use online whiteboards which are collaborative spaces where I will be able to show them content as well as directly see their answers so I can correct them if needed. As well as this I am very patient and have no problem staying for extra time if your child does not understand a specific concept in which case I will gladly help them.
