Hello, my name is Haoze Yang. I am currently a fifth-year medical student studying at Imperial College London. I have been teaching here and there for the past two years. I would pride myself on teaching mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, and Chinese for A levels and below. I also know the ins and outs having been through the medical university admission cycle twice, excelling in UCAT, BMAT and interview skills. I got one of my students into Imperial just this year as well! I love talking to my students and getting to know them as a person, finding out their studying style, strengths and weaknesses per subject, and then formulating a plan with them so both of us work together towards our goals. I find this particularly rewarding and so do my students. Outside of academia, I love travelling, football, surfing, collectibles, and investing and I am also planning to get into gliding this year!
For all my interview lessons, I prefer to have a call with my students first and get to know what topics or aspects they are most concerned with. Then, during the lesson, I will do it in the format of a mock interview right away, and provide feedback and structured answers for each question so that my students are familiarised with the real format, and it will also train them to adapt and improvise their answers for different questions.
For BMAT and UCAT, I will solve the questions together with my students, prepare similar questions and make sure that my students will be able to learn and solve them by themselves at the end of the lessons. My lessons will also be practice-heavy so that my students are well-prepared for their tests.
For the Sciences subjects, it will be a combination of my previous formats. I will have a call to find out about their difficult topics, and explain the principles during the lessons, then, prepare questions and teach them how to solve them.
Overall, my lessons will be personalised to each student so that they get what is suitable for them and what will help them to improve massively and reach their end goals.
