I am a current GCSE and A Level Physics teacher at a London Independent School. I have taught for 12 years at Independent schools in London and Surrey and have done private tutoring for a number of years. I have taught across a wide variety of exam boards and have been an examiner for a number of years.
I believe tutoring should personalised to the student and use a combination of the pupils bringing their questions (whether from homework set at school, questions from lessons, previous tests/exams) and then using other past paper questions selected by to myself to target areas of weakness or misconception. I can use Google Meet or Zoom for the sessions along with an online workspace to allow immediate feedback on questions and work.
I have experience in working with pupils who have found Physics difficult in the past, as well as those looking to achieve top grades. I genuinely believe that every person can learn Physics with the right help and guidance. Relating Physics to the everyday world allows pupils to understand tricky topics, while also having a strong emphasis on exam technique. My students describe me as motivating and encouraging, while also having a strong technical knowledge. Improving in Physics GCSE is about looking for the places where you can make the biggest impact on your marks for the least amount of effort. Improving by 1 or 2 marks a week, feels less scary, but can making a huge impact on your overall results.
I am happy to set up a phone call to talk about what you are looking for from a tutor.
