I recently completed my PhD which was focused on molecular biology, with aspects of chemistry and maths. Previously to this I completed my Master's degree in cancer research and Undergraduate studies in biomedical science. I have a passion for science and maths and have over 5 years experience tutoring and mentoring students. These students included GCSE, A-Level, undergraduate and postgraduate students and I taught them practical lab skills as well as 1:1 tutoring and teaching of the relevant subject. I pride myself on adapting my teaching to suit the student and can either focus on one specific topic/concept that is a struggle or the more broad curriculum in preparation for exams. I am approachable and friendly and I have an open dialogue with my students where they know there really is no such thing as a stupid question.
I prefer teaching over zoom and will prepare the tutoring session prior to asking you what you would like to focus on that session. I believe in a personalised approach as not all teaching techniques can be applied across the board to all students. The overall aim is to create a comfortable learning environment that leads to confidence opening the exam paper and achieving the grades you need to progress. I have enjoyed watching my students progress and I believe working together we can accomplish improvement and achieve desired grades. I truly believe there is nothing that can't be accomplished with the right approach and have watched my students achieve above and beyond their personal expectations.
