Hannah Leedham

I have worked with a range of students with varying abilities. I aim to find out where your strengths lie in the subject and use this to help you tackle those areas for improvement. Students feeling comfortable and confident is highly important to help every individual progress through the subject. I believe education is a personal experience and will therefore approach every lesson in an individual and personalised way. I will take into consideration any individual needs of the student and identify ways that this can be adapted into each individual’s learning styles. I pride myself on being approachable and understanding when students may feel unsure on a certain element of the course and believe in a collaborative approach to learning. This provides students with a sense of ownership and responsibility in relation to their own learning which also contributes to independence and confidence.
I hope to inspire a love for the subject and am always keen to help students find a way to appreciate the form of the English language.
I have spent the last six years of teaching working incredibly hard on improving my subject knowledge which has allowed me to feel secure in my ability to both support those who need building up and stretching those who are capable. Whether it is analysis, creative writing or grammar that is the area to be improved on, I am keen to help.
All students should feel able to achieve and reach the best of their ability and should not feel limited or restricted.
