I am passionate about creativity in the classroom and encourage students to apply their creativity to lessons whether that be through writing poetry or diary entries about a historic event, creating timelines with art, referring to current events and comparing these to events in history, drawing and illustrating events like battles, coming up with rhymes and songs to remember names of historic figures, etc! I believe reading is really the key to success, so I encourage students to read as much fiction, non-fiction, newspaper articles, magazines, etc. as possible and I have the students discuss what they read and what they understood or didn't understand in their reading like difficult words or phrases. I am flexible with teaching methods and will cater to the students' needs!
