Hello! I'm Hannah.

I have a strong background in Art and Design, with a BTech Foundation (level 3 and 4) alongside a degree in Visual Communication and Illustration. My experience in teaching has been in nurseries and primary schools, with recreational kids' crafts workshops taking place outside of this. I've also got experience in SEN (Special Educational Needs) and have taught older students (ages 13-54) on an informal level. I'm keen to work with students of all ages!

Lessons will be online, one-to-one, and high in quality. I take a very exploratory approach in my own work and lesson scope - I'm still learning every day, and love to explore new styles. I will work with you patiently at a pace that suits you: to figure out where you're at in your drawing journey, and what we should focus on to take your skills to the next level.

Lesson content will vary depending on your preferences, the lesson type, and the materials that you have access to. The default is simply pencil and paper - this is all we need for a lot of learning. After assessing where you're at and deciding on the lesson, the format of a 1-hour lesson will tend to be structured around the following:
- an introduction to the subject (gaining theoretical understanding)
- several warm ups / practise sketches / explorations (depending on the lesson content)
- the main drawing exercise (what we'll have been practising for)
- a short reflection of how the drawing went and what we could expand on next time
[I will be demonstrating my drawing techniques throughout the course of the lesson, for reference]

As for teaching style, I'm friendly, fun, and laid-back. I believe creative learning only truly takes when the student feels free to be themselves. With this being said, I'll also use timely prompts, gentle encouragement, and practical feedback within the lesson, to ensure that decisions are being made and reflected upon.
