I have an easy way of explaining things clearly to help with breaking things down. With a GCSE in English and also undergoing the new grade system I have a recent knowledge of what the exam boards are expecting. With past experience of helping with homework, I would rather be told that something doesn’t make sense or would like things explained different. I will always try and find an easy way of getting a student to remember something that they either enjoy all like to make learning English a more fun way. I like to find out what methods and tricks students like to use before starting a tutorial because then it makes it easier for them and me to address the situation and then I can find out the strong points and weak points they might have in a certain subject. At the end of each tutorial I will go back and recap on what we have learned and if everything is clear so then on the next tutorial if there is anything that doesn’t make sense to the student and would like revisiting then we can cover all bases again so that nothing is missed out and then we can move onto the next subject or next question that I would be required to undergo with them. By doing this method of asking questions and giving a recap at the end of the tutorial I can then assess how quickly we can move on and what speed the student will be working at.
