Hi, I’m Hanan!

I am a Psychology university student available to teach Maths at any level up to GCSE. I am a friendly tutor looking to offer students additional support in the subject. I have experience in tutoring GCSE Maths online since the summer of 2022.

In order to achieve the grades that the student aims for, I believe spaced repetition and past exam papers are the most efficient and effective ways for students to see their progress. I start my lessons with an explanation of the topic and then complete different styles of questions on the topic with the student before they attempt questions on their own. I find exam walk-throughs with a student are important as they can learn exam techniques by understanding the mark schemes.

There is no such thing as a "silly question"; I am always encouraging students to think out loud when problem-solving and to ask lots of questions so that we can identify and target any misconceptions and areas of weakness. Having completed both the Edexcel GCSE and A-Level exams (grade 8 and A* respectively), I am familiar with the exam board, however, I can easily adapt my lessons to any other exam board.

I offer free video chats so that I can get to know the student and discuss their needs carefully. I fully understand that there are times when lessons need to be rearranged/cancelled and that is not an issue; I will try my best to fit you in elsewhere or cancel if necessary.
