First session: Get to know you! What areas/topics you need help with? Exam questions or content? What is your learning style? What do you expect out of the sessions? We will set goals and timeframes to achieve them. I will prepare exam questions or revision resources for next sessions.

Next/Future session: we will go over the exam questions together or cover the content. Set exam questions on content to see you have understood it. Areas you are weaker on I will focus on the next session. I will set tasks for you to complete ahead of next session ( I won’t overload don’t worry we will work around your schedules/school work) and I’ll adapt to your learning style or we can try new techniques.

My teaching style:

When it comes to A-levels and GCSE science it’s all about mastering the EXAM questions. Once you have the content nailed down we need to know how we can apply it to exam style questions. Just knowing the content is not enough, unfortunately.
From my previous experience of tutoring A-level students, from attempting exam papers, going over topic set exam questions, you will gain the subject knowledge and identify areas that need working on so you are not wasting time on revising areas you already know, especially leading up to exams when you have a lot of subjects to revise for!

That being said this is how I approach sessions:
- what area/topic are you stuck on?
- I’ll find exam questions based on chosen topics for you to complete ahead of you’d like.
- Following session we will work through it together and mark it.
This way you can see what you are struggling with specifically and move on to the next topic.
