My lessons are dynamic, engaging, and tailored to the individual needs of each child, particularly in the primary school setting. I believe in creating a positive and supportive learning environment where every child feels motivated and capable of achieving their best.
Lesson Format and Approach:
Interactive and Hands-On: I incorporate a variety of interactive activities that cater to different learning styles, ensuring that each child is actively engaged and can grasp the concepts being taught. This includes using visual aids, hands-on materials, and interactive games, especially for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), where tailored resources are key to their learning success.
Differentiated Learning: Understanding that every child is unique, I differentiate my lessons to meet their individual needs. Whether working with small groups or one-on-one, I adjust my teaching methods and materials to ensure that every student can access the curriculum effectively.
Structured and Organized: My lessons are well-organized, with clear objectives and a structured routine that helps children know what to expect and feel secure in their learning environment. I often use visual timetables and other tools to create a consistent learning experience, particularly beneficial for SEN students.
Supportive and Encouraging: I place a strong emphasis on positive reinforcement and constructive feedback. My experience has taught me that praise and encouragement can significantly boost a child’s confidence and motivation, driving them to reach their full potential.
Content or dynamics of the lessons:
Curriculum-Aligned: My lessons align with the curriculum standards for different Key Stages, ensuring that the content is relevant and builds on what children are expected to learn at their specific level. I have experience across Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, which allows me to adapt content accordingly.
Focus on Core Skills: I emphasize the development of core skills, such as literacy and numeracy, by providing targeted support in areas like phonics, reading, and basic mathematics. I also integrate creative activities to make learning fun and engaging.
Experience with SEN: My extensive experience with SEN children means that I am skilled in creating an inclusive learning environment where all children, regardless of their needs, can thrive. I tailor activities to suit visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic learners, ensuring that every child can participate and progress.
Years of Experience: With over eight years of experience as a teaching assistant, I have gained a deep understanding of how to support children effectively. My hands-on experience across various Key Stages has equipped me with the knowledge to handle different learning challenges and adapt my teaching methods to suit the needs of each child.
Collaborative Approach: I work closely with lead teachers and other team members to ensure that our collective efforts are aligned, and that each child receives comprehensive support. This collaboration allows me to draw on different teaching styles and techniques to enhance my lessons.
Ultimately, my goal is to inspire and support every child I work with. I am passionate about helping children discover their love for learning and achieve their goals, and nothing makes my day more than seeing the joy and satisfaction on a child’s face when they succeed.
