I will be obtaining my teaching certification. I have taught beginner riding lessons to students between the ages of 6 and 14 for several years. I have a good understanding of different teaching methods. All kids learn differently. I will adapt to the child's learning abilities and keep the lessons fun. Many children and hands on or visual learners, so I try to use as much visual interpretation that I can. This can be anything from counting cubes to learn math, all the way to highlighting parts of an essay in different colors so the child can understand the different parts of the essay. I personally am a visual learner, so it is easy for me to use my personal trick to help children succeed. I have tutors many of my peers, proofreading their college essays, and none of them have ever failed. For older students I will leave notes for improvement, and let the child figure out how to fix it.
